In 2006, Ida graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a concentration in creative writing. While attending the university, she served as the treasurer of the Russian Club—designed to help promote understanding and appreciation for the Russian culture, history and language. For two years, she helped organize and conduct all of the club’s events.

After graduating, Ida became employed by GUESS, Inc.  During the 2006 holiday season, she helped to open and co-manage a brand new GUESS by Marciano store at Coconut Point, Estero. In September 2007, Ida was hired by Breeze Newspapers, becoming the staff writer for The Island Reporter on Sanibel Island, Florida.

Ida was born in Dushanbe, the capitol of Tajikistan. She came to the United States with her family in 1992.
